What Does Renters Insurance Cover? An Explanation

Many apartment and house renters have asked me if they need insurance for renters, and if they do-- what does renters insurance cover? Well, even if you think you own few possession, all renters should be insured not only to cover your personal possessions but for the all-important liability coverage. Let me explain exactly what it covers.

Renters' insurance coverage has two parts:
1. The first part is 'general coverage' of your personal possessions from theft or damage.
2. The second part is 'liability coverage' against financial loss resulting from injury to a visitor to your home. Depending on your policy, this often includes visitor's medical costs, plus legal and other associated costs should you be sued.

Ask your insurance representative about the exact coverage in any policy you consider.

The Landlord's Insurance

Many renters mistakenly believe a landlord's building insurance will cover anything that could possibly go wrong in an apartment building. That is simply not true.

The truth is that landlords' insurance is limited to damage to the building structure and to liability coverage for the common areas, only. Landlord's insurance does not cover your furniture, personal possessions, or damage you might do to the landlords building. You are responsible for your own possessions and the well-being of your apartment or rented house. You are also responsible for liability within your rented home. So you need renters insurance to protect your possessions and liability inside your home.

A Few Points Of Coverage

What does renters insurance cover? Well, here are points of coverage to show you how this insurance can benefit you:

Your possessions will be protected from theft and vandalism.
Your possessions will be protected against damage from specifically named risks such as fire and windstorm.*
If there is damage to your rented apartment or house and you are not able to live there, many renter's insurance policies will provide for temporary relocation living expenses while repairs are made.
Your possessions will be protected away from your home, such as items in your car, or items you take with you while on vacation.

* Policies cover "insured risks" which are specifically named in your policy. Insured risks never include flood and earthquake damage. These are considered separate risks that require separate policies.

In reading the above list, it is easy to see that you can get substantial renters insurance coverage; and it comes at little cost. You will not have any problem in locating a good renter's insurance policy for $20 a month or less for a basic policy.

It Adds Up

I know many renters think they don't have enough possessions to warrant getting insurance. Well, if you add together your CD and DVD collection, your computer, TV, other electronics, clothing, furniture, bedding, and other personal items, you will find it all adds up very quickly.

In every case, renters insurance makes a lot of sense as a way to protect your assets for the cost of only two small pizzas a month. When you think about it, it's a wise thing to get.

Client-server or Web Hosted EMR EMR - Which is better?

If the system is faced with the choice between client / server-based EMR and a web-based or hosted EMR, what would be the best choice for you?

In these difficult economic times, physicians are increasingly faced with this crucial question that requires a decision.

For starters, it's a good idea to make sure we understand what they mean the two terms. Client Server based EMR systems are the most popular, and it is here that the program is running onwebsite provider. On the other hand, an ASP-or Web-based EMR system, as the name suggests is hosted by a third over the Internet.

In fact, both systems have their advantages and disadvantages for the supervision of a doctor just to be in a position of having to make an informed decision.

No doubt it is always much more control with a client-based EMR. It is faster and you do not have full Internet access for your patient data. However, there is a price to payand begins with the cost of investment much higher, you must buy a server and the software outright. In addition, remote access to EMR records when you're away from the clinic are limited and usually much more complex than was the case with a web-based system.

On the other hand, a web-based electronic health record means you reduce costs drastically. Not only for the initial setup, but also in terms of maintenance, because IT professionalsComposition of the hosting provider will keep and have no costs in this context. Not to mention the online backup service available at your disposal. And then you can always access your data from anywhere in the world, until an Internet connection, which has become one of the biggest advantages of a web-based system should be.

But this great strength is also its greatest weakness. And this is the fact that your approach is entirely dependent on the InternetThis means that access will not be easy in some areas. Then there are the normal risks associated with web-based systems go. For example, you might end up like your data is completely inaccessible if the hosting company online IT belly up.

All these factors have weighed and considered before making a decision. Depend greatly on your practice, what to do and of course you want the budget.

If Ethernet is a good choice for a network infrastructure company

Many companies today are showing a growing interest in the choice of Ethernet applications as part of their network infrastructure. But too often they do not arm themselves with enough information to make an intelligent business decision. Word of warning .... Get smart before.

Ethernet is a multiple access technology, in which the entire bandwidth is available to each user on a contention. T1/DS3 other side is a (time-division) multiplexing technology.Where in the form fractionilized allow users seamless access to their individual time slots 56K/64K.

Now, we can discuss during the intervals of time or group has the full range available, there is one aspect of argument T1/DS3 and affirmation - as well as the allocation of bandwidth to multiple users. Ethernet is this design. But I expect T1/DS3 an additional resource to implement this .... especially for speech applicationAspect. Well, I think that is an argument for using a real-TDMA technology. But we come now to the cost. Ethernet is pretty damn cheap, and offer flexibility in design / installation. Where the traditional TDMA is based on fairly precise timing of many hosts on the network and is therefore more expensive.

Today, companies are Ethernet-based Internet networks to move, because:

- Speed are available: for example, Time Warner Telecom2 Mbit / s - GigE offers.

- Scalability to easily update and speed can be used on copper or fiber optic T1, DS3 or OC3 - OC192.

- Cost of hardware cheaper and easier to maintain. A 10/100 Ethernet card in each device level 2 (eg firewall) or Layer 3 device (router, for example) is all you need to cancel the service.

- Simple network: Instead of using a router and a firewall, you only need a piece of hardware and companies using firewalls, have routing functions (which eliminated the purchase and maintenance of a router). This helps your IT budget, maintenance of equipment (Ethernet LAN already) and you have less points of failure in the network (the hardware you have, the more points of failure in the network).

- Is to develop optical fibers: ISP, rather than letting her DS3 fiber optic networks or local RBOC ILEC's. Carriers to expand its fiber optic fingerprint and ISP areimplemented with optical fibers faster and better Internet for business. For example, the Ethernet connection.

Total Ethernet is ideal for companies in three points:

1) Price Point - the cost of Ethernet equipment and interfaces is much less Than the cost to others, as you said, mean Among other things, market penetration of Ethernet economies of scale come into play, the costs go down. Moreover, Ethernet is not usually a service charge, soCompetition in the market allows the price to come down as well (as opposed to telephone companies for qualified services delivered) were compared.

to figure 2) More engineers - is much easier to manage and maintain, as a significantly greater number of technicians / administrators to understand and comfortable with Ethernet. With an optical engineer or an engineer telco staff costs much more than an Ethernet network "engineer".

3) Ubiquity - it appears that the major players are the driving force of the market (orpulled from the market) is towards Ethernet. This means that the technological innovations towards Ethernet, not T-1, DS-3, etc. Direct

That said, I do not think optical Ethernet is available, especially to move on DWDM long-distance market. error correction and synchronization are critical for long distances and Ethernet do not really have either. So, I see Ethernet as an ideal technology for last mile, which is carried on optical services.

A limit whenYour business model needs to legacy applications may Telco (not VoIP) supported with the range outside, then channeled T services most appropriate. That if you have 15 channels of a T-1 for 9 channels for voice and data, the sense of two separate ports, one for voice and wants to make one for data.

I doubt anyone will disagree with the Ethernet protocol absolute best for a company's internal LAN. But I tried more and more ISPstheir data are already providing Ethernet encapsulated. Instead of offering air conditioning on a standard DSL, T1, DS3 ..... You want to encapsulate the data already Ethernet transport. This is usually done to allow them to offer additional services, such as a firewall on your NOC, instead of your website. But much damage from it, convert the data into Ethernet packets to their NOC.

Before bandwidth. They still have to carry your data on their linesLocation using any form of encapsulation of this traffic (DSL, T1, DS3, etc.) is necessary. But there are additional layers for Ethernet, which is now required to carry the added layers. In other words, data from the file are wider and levels for the same amount of data. A certain size it will take longer because of the additional data required for the capsules.

Lose the ability to solve problems. If a company is connected with the standardtransport law, an ISP can ping the router in its facilities. If you are forced to surrender PPPoE, not their ISP to verify the link between the NOC and their location. Often this is a last mile lines (construction) problem and there is no way to check, they know that

I could go on, but the answer is that a corporate LAN, Ethernet is the way. But not for the Internet connection for your ISP.

Now here are some other tidbits, often overlooked by business association, ifWhereas Ethernet as the backbone of their network infrastructure ......

Ethernet is cheaper than any other protocol layer-2, which is not in WAN bandwidth. Order a 100 Mbit / s from your neighborhood and ask specifically that you want a sustainable information rate of 100%. You will be shocked to learn that there are almost as expensive as a bandwidth OC3. And 'cheap because Ethernet is often without provider tells you that overbooking.

Yes Ethernethas its advantages. But certainly not the advantage that you need CPE equipment. On virgin can use Ethernet Layer 2 (VPLS). In this case, obtain the switch on the WAN side. Or you can layer 3 VLAN services. In this case, your provider will probably administer the router.

Be aware that the VLANs that are interesting. They are somewhat similar to MPLS classes of service. This means that you can have a VLAN managementdifferent applications with different service parameters. A supplier that would be two of its infrastructure properly Ethernet backbone, offering high quality IP telephony on a TLAN with a decent quality of service parameters (ultra-low jitter).

Note that if you were to purchase a fully managed MPLS VPNs for almost all companies around the world, Ethernet is not bring much more flexibility. But if you need a lot more bandwidth to burstCharacter, you should target an Ethernet Layer 3 Managed Network. No matter if a 100 Mbps Ethernet connection is overbooked, usually cost even more bandwidth and congestion that the SDH / SONET parameters of bandwidth anyway.

An important point is that currently there is no native Ethernet coverage is a myth in most of the world. In most cases, some electric 155Mbps simply pushed up to 100 Mbps, fiber because it is not simply a point yet. 1 Gbps or 10 Gbpsin this case is unavailable or incredibly expensive.

At Level 3 the grinding of bandwidth SONET is not a disadvantage. Because level 2 is still close to the potty, and a hybrid network in order. You can easily connect classes of service over MPLS with VLAN. Level 2, there are many suppliers that can offer a hybrid VPLS on any network infrastructure.

Now here is understood in the bottom line (pun ).......

In terms of quality and price / performance, theSuppliers and specific applications are much more important than technology. Currently, however, for Internet applications ..... and pure as the price difference from overbooking of bandwidth ..... Ethernet is, for most companies prefer.

The Top 10 Culprits Causing Malware Infections

I think it is safe to assume that the places you visit on the Internet will determine which programs are installed on your PC. Let me put it this way, the software installed on your computer will have some relevance to the sites you often visit. Lets take a few examples, when you are using Gmail, chances are good that you will have Gmail Notifier or GoogleTalk installed on your PC. When you often visit Yahoo.com or take part in their social networks, chances are good that you will have Yahoo! Toolbar or Yahoo! Messenger installed on your PC. Lets take a more practical example, users visiting Microsoft.com most probably have packages like Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows XP installed on their computers. It is likely for supporters of the Open Source Initiative to hang out on sites like OpenSource.org, OpenOffice.com, Linux.org or SpreadFirefox.com. So your software preferences play a huge role in the type of web sites you visit and vice versa.

But what has this to do with malware infections? To be honest, everything! Let me show you what the top culprits of malware infections are and it will soon be clear to you what the connection is between the web sites you visit and the malware found on your PC.

Top culprit number 1: Pornographic web sites

Download Spyware Blaster by JavaCool Software and have a look at all the porn related web sites blocked by this program. It is also remarkable to see how many computers with traces of pornographic web sites in their browser history, are often infected with spyware and trojan horses. Unfortunately you will have innocent victims of malware infections, also with traces of pornographic web sites in their browser history, but only because the malware redirected them to these sites. However, people with pornographic material on their computers are not that innocent in this case, pornography does not go out looking for people, people go out looking for pornography.

Top culprit number 2: Illegal music (MP3) and movie downloading sites

These sites normally force you to install special downloading software on your computer so that you can download files from them. These download managers are often bundled with spyware and are trojan horses themselves, downloading tons of other spyware programs while you cheerfully download your illegal MP3's. They sometimes place tracking cookies on your PC to monitor your browsing habits and hijack your browser to make sure you return to their site or a site of a partner.

Top culprit number 3: Software Piracy web sites

If you love using illegal software, cracks, serial numbers or license key generators (keygens) then you most probably had to remove some malware infections in the past after visiting one of these sites. Most of the people using these cracks are normally technical wizards and know how to disinfect their computers. Many of these sites do not only contain harmful scripts but also fake cracks and key generators, which are nothing else but malware. Some crack developers create a working crack but distribute it with spyware or a trojan horse to make your PC their slave.

Top culprit number 4: Peer-to-peer file sharing programs and networks

The file sharing community is loaded with pornography, pirated software, music and movies. Is it not amazing that everywhere these guys make their appearance you also find spyware, viruses, trojan horses and all kinds of malware? The client software is also often bundled with spyware (or adware as they call it).

The culprits discussed so far are those connected with illegal and indecent activities. People visiting these sites and using these services deserve getting infected with malware. These culprits are also some of the biggest sources of malware epidemics. What flows from the mouth, comes from within the heart. The same rule applies to your computer, those nasty little programs crawling inside your computer is, in the case of culprits 1 to 4, the direct result of your own sinful actions and activities.

The next couple of culprits are caused by negligence and a lack of knowledge about how malware are distributed.

Top culprit number 5: Pop-up and pop-under advertisements

Another culprit that wants to caught you off guard. A pop-up window may appear out of the blue or a concealed pop-under window my load in the background without you even knowing it. These windows can start downloading malicious programs and install them on your computer. They can appear on any web site, not just illegal and other bad web sites. You can prevent these windows from opening by using a secure browser like Firefox with a built-in pop-up blocker.

Top culprit number 6: Fake anti-virus and anti-spyware tools

You visit a legitimate looking web site and suddenly a banner appears telling you that your computer is infected with spyware. You can scan your computer with all the anti-spyware software in the world, over and over again until you are blue in the face, but that banner will keep telling you that your computer is infected with spyware. This is because it is a plain image banner. The site never does a scan of your computer, it is a fixed message that will display on any computer, no matter how clean it is. Simply put, it is a blatant lie! They want you to believe that your computer is infected and that only their software can remove this spyware. If you download and install their software you will only find that it is spyware itself. You may end up infecting a completely clean system with a dirty program, trying to remove the so-called spyware.

A system scan is not a three second process, it takes time, so no scanner can tell you instantaneously that your system is infected with spyware. I do not believe in online scanners, rather use software with a good reputation, a local scan is much more faster. Most online scanners are no online scanners at all, you actually download the whole scanning engine and end up doing a local scan anyway. A real scanner will tell you the name of the malware and its location on your hard drive, if it does not give you this information, then it is fake. Even if it gives you this information, it still does not mean that the software is legitimate. Do not trust everything you see online and stick to well known anti-malware brands.

Top culprit number 7: Free games, screen savers, media players, etc.

No, not every free program comes bundled with spyware, but spyware (once again the developers prefer to call it adware, but it is still the same thing) is often the price you have to pay for the free software. It is normally a ploy to monitor your use of the program, to send the creators statistical data or to collect data about your online behaviour in order to send you targeted ads. If you try to remove the spyware you normally render the main application useless. Read the EULA (End User Licence Agreement) very carefully before installing the application. But everyone knows that nobody reads those tedious, long licence agreements, so use EULAlyzer by JavaCool Software to check for specific keywords and phrases that might reveal any spyware programs being installed or privacy breaching practices that may occur if you install the free software.

Top culprit number 8: Malicious web pages with harmful scripts

But you already mentioned this one in culprits 1 to 3. No, culprits 1 to 3 often have harmless web sites and it is the content you download from the sites that is harmful. But you also get web pages containing malicious scripts, totally innocent looking web sites, like a site donating money for cancer. You go to their homepage and suddenly a script virus strikes your computer. This is what an anti-virus shield was made for, that unexpected attack. Firefox is also designed to prevent harmful scripts and browser hijackers from accessing the system and taking advantage of flaws and weak spots in your operating system.

Top culprit number 9: E-mail

Virus worms spread themselves by forwarding a copy of the virus to all the contacts in your address book. Those contacts that are unaware of these worms will most likely open the e-mail and the file attached to it. But when you open a strange infected e-mail from an unknown sender, then you are guilty of double negligence. For the virus to be activated you need to open the e-mail and in most cases you need to deliberately open the file attachment too. By using a little common sense you will know that strange e-mails from unknown senders are dangerous, especially when they have executable attachments with file names ending with the "exe", "com", "bat" or "scr" extensions. Even dangerous e-mails from known, trustworthy contacts can easily be identified if the contents of the e-mail seems strange and out of character. By being careful and responsible when opening your e-mails, you will not only prevent your own computer from getting infected, but you will also prevent the worm from spreading any further.

Top culprit number 10: You the Internet user

What? Me? How on earth can I be a culprit? Well, you are an accomplice in the spread of malware if you do not have an active and updated anti-virus package installed on your computer, if you do not scan your computer for viruses and spyware on a regular basis, if you do not use shields like the TeaTimer tool from SpyBot (which is free by the way), the Ad-Watch shield of Ad-Aware or the resident shield of AVG Anti-spyware (all of which you have to pay for, unfortunately), if you spend your time browsing pornographic and illegal web sites and take part in the sharing of pirated software and copyrighted material (culprits 1 to 4), if you fail to be responsible with the software you install on your PC and the e-mails you open (culprits 6, 7 and 9) and if you refuse to use a secure web browser (like Firefox) built to prevent malware infections (culprits 5 and 8). Yes, I will go so far to say, that if you stay away from culprits 1 to 7 and 9, you probably won't need any virus and spyware protection at all. Culprit 8 is the only reason why you should have anti-virus and anti-spyware protection, for those unexpected attacks, over which you have no control.

Culprits 1 to 8 are the main sources of malware. Infections caused by them led to the creation of culprits 9 and 10, which distribute the malware even further. Do not turn your computer into a malware paradise or a malware distribution centre. Take responsibility, protect your computer against these threats and prevent the spread of malware.

Exploring the Many Flavors of DSL

When a person decides upon the type of broadband service to use, they normally consider their options to be limited to cable, satellite broadband, and a digital subscriber line. Many people might be surprised to learn there are several variations of DSL service. The availability of some may be limited, depending upon the area of the country in which you live. Today's article will provide a brief description of the most popular flavors.

ADSL (A stands for "asymmetric") - This is the variation that is used predominantly by residential customers and small businesses. It offers a much higher data transmission rate for downloading packets than uploading, which is appropriate for most users. ADSL is further separated into two additional flavors: RADSL and VDSL.

RADSL (rate-adaptive) - This is an offshoot technology of ADSL that was designed by a company called Westell. Software is used to identify the highest speed of transmission for each individual user given the limitations of that user's phone line. Once identified, the rate can be altered to minimize network impact.

VDSL (very high bit rate) - This variation is a relatively recent technology that dramatically increases the transmission speed of packets sent over very small distances (i.e. 1,000 feet or less). To compare, a normal DSL connection can transmit up to 8 Mbps while a VDSL connection allows data to travel at up to 55 Mbps.

SDSL (S stands for "symmetric") - SDSL connections provide users with the same transmission speeds for uploading and downloading information. This flavor of DSL is commonly used by businesses and far less frequently by residential customers. Because businesses have more rigorous upload requirements, SDSL is often preferred.

SHDSL (symmetric high-speed) - This is a variation of SDSL that has an identical top transmission speed for both uploads and downloads. The technology seeks to address a number of technical issues that are beyond the attention of most residential and small business customers.

HDSL-2 (high bit rate) - This version is very similar to DSL and was designed to address the lack of compatibility between the hardware and software of disparate providers. With HDSL-2, information packets can travel along a pair of copper wires up to a distance of 12,000 feet.

IDSL (I stands for "integrated") - One of the limitations of a digital subscriber line is that the transmission speed is influenced by the distance a customer lives from his or her provider's central hub. IDSL was invented to help customers who live far from the hub enjoy reasonable transmission rates. However, the service is still considered slow.

It is likely that new technology will continue to expand the menu of DSL flavors that customers can take advantage of. What's more, the bandwidth offered by each flavor is likely to increase over time. Indeed, most experts would agree that the technology that drives broadband internet access is still in its early stages.

Don't Try to Be All Things to All Clients

Don't try to be all things to all clients when marketing your public relations and communications services.

Your business success depends upon answering these three major questions:

o What key characteristics do you want in an ideal client?

o In what specific markets and industries will you seek your ideal clients?

o What specific services do you want to offer your clients?

Your marketing materials -- especially your website -- should reflect your answers to these questions.

At first, seeking specific types of clients in specific markets sounds simple. Most PR firms don't have the horsepower or desire to deliver a full spectrum of services to clients of all sizes in numerous markets. Even agencies with extensive resources will wisely limit themselves to a few core markets and types of clients. And they narrow things further by specializing in the services these markets require most.

But public relations professionals are -- by nature -- "can do" people. They thrive on solving difficult problems and handling crises of all sorts. They enjoy a challenge.

These professional strengths, coupled with a can-do attitude, may cause some PR professionals to cast an excessively wide marketing net. As a result, they attract a hodge-podge of potential clients who don't fit their ideal.

I'm not saying you shouldn't expand your comfort zone by targeting new markets or learning new skills. On the contrary. Strategic growth is necessary for survival. You must keep asking yourself

o What can I do to serve my clients better?

o What additional services do my clients need that I can provide?

o What services do I provide that need stronger marketing?

I benefited when a good client asked me to write a financial grant request; something I'd never done before. I explained that while I had every confidence in my abilities as a writer, my repertoire didn't include grant writing. Therefore, the client would probably be better served by working with a grant specialist.

Regardless, the client wanted me to handle the job. This project served as my grant writing training ground. The final product succeeded on two fronts. It enabled my client to land a product development grant from a large education foundation, and it gave me the confidence and experience to add grant writing to my list of services.

While this project turned out well for everyone, I've had prospective clients consume excessive amounts of my time, energy and knowledge then disappear without engaging my services.

You can prevent time-wasting inquires from prospects who don't fit your ideal by using your company's website and other marketing materials to clearly and completely describe your firm's services, markets and desired clients.

It is vital that you aim for specific clients in specific markets; clients who you'd enjoy working with and who need the services you provide. Otherwise, you'll waste your time and resources by spreading yourself too thin and attracting clients who will ultimately cost you dearly.

Giving a Business Client a Gift Basket From the Company

When searching for the right gift to say thanks to a client consider a variety of options before spending the money in order to accomplish the desired customer result. Sales professionals and business owners who want help finding the right gift for a clients may find the best solution for various situations can be a company gift basket. Many business leaders and sales people give gifts to their customers each year as a token of appreciation and as a subtle reminder to think of their organization the next time the client wants to place a similar order.

The easiest route to take for gift baskets is to get one that someone has already put together. Shopping for a gift basket that is already put together for a on the web is easy and in many department stores during a holiday season. Typical gift baskets that can be purchased include edibles such as candy, cookies, crackers, wine, meat, cheese and so forth. Also flower arrangements can be bought at a local florist or ordered over the internet at anytime. However these gifts are gone after only a few days. They may be appreciated, but will these gifts be remembered months later when the client wants to place a new order? Non-seasonal gift baskets are harder to find unless shopping is done at a specialty shop or gourmet store.

Although food baskets are nice, a client can get too many during the holidays or from competitors during the sales cycle. To insure remembrance, plan a special gift basket and find someone inside or outside the organization to customize it and arrange it in a nice container. If the container is a reusable item for the person receiving the gift basket, then it makes for an even better gift as they continue to use it! Company logo items used in a custom gift basket make an excellent reminder to the client every time it is used. These logo items are often practical gifts that will last for months to come. Often these types of gifts include mugs, calendars, clips, magnets, pens, or notebooks with the company name as the gift-giver imprinted on it along with the website and possibly a phone number. A miniature gift basket can be made by placing several small items in a mug and then wrapping it in cellophane, tying a bow around the top, and adding a gift card or business card. These types of baskets are nice-to-have and do have the desired company reminder aspect. Often customers will appreciate a gift that is both practical and helpful.

For a sales person who is looking for a meaningful appreciation gift to give clients during the sales cycle or when shopping for a holiday season, consider something to go along with the typical company logo item that reminds the client of their willingness to help grow the customer's business as well as their own. Business books are often appreciated by professionals so they make a great addition to any gift basket. Often a custom gift basket can be built around the message of the book(s) being considered. There are so many business and improvement books to select from. When considering the best business book to give, think about complaints or concerns the recipient has expressed in the past and look for a title on that subject. The client will appreciate that their problem was remembered and that a solution may be provided in the gift. When saying thanks with a book for improving client's business, the message is conveyed to "remember me because I want to help your business grow." This additional message of business aid is often received with extra gratitude above what a gift basket alone gets. A salesperson should always include their business card in the book to be used as a bookmark. This way if the book is passed around in the client company, so is the salesperson's name and contact information.

Many business leaders and sales people give gifts to their clients and customers each year as thanks for business and as a way to build future relationships. Sales professionals and business owners who want help finding the right gift to may find the best solution for various situations can be a company gift basket.

What You Should Consider For a WAN Optimization Solution

You're evaluating your WAN (Wide Area Network) and wondering how you can optimize performance across the network. What are you're realistic options for a solution?

Keep in mind that this isn't necessarily a bandwidth solution, such as say MPLS or ethernet is. Rather it's a bandwidth utilization question.

I would suggest looking at WAN optimization appliances: Riverbed, Juniper, Packeteer. In many cases they do a very good job with latency, especially if the main source of the problem is CIFS WAN-unaware issues (copying/opening/modifying files using Windows).

The first step in my view is to find out the path your IP packets are taking. A delay can be caused if your connection is going through satellite and not a land line (Earthbound wireless, fibre- underwater or land, etc.).

First I would suggest tracing your packets' route ..... then making an SLA with your service provider and see if they can guarantee the quality parameters you want concerning BW, delay, jitter etc.

I wouldn't jump into buying or installing anything before that!

Keep in mind that all WAN-accelerators solve Latency issues. So choose any Vendor that does WAN-acceleration. But choosing the right one is not that easy. It depends on your WAN-traffic.

If you use applications (like Citrix, SAP) than a traffic priorizing Accelerator (Like Packeteer or Ipanema) will offer you the best results. However, if your traffic is more file oriented (MS-Office) ..... than you will get the best results with the Data reduction Accelerators, like Riverbed, Juniper Citrix and Cisco. In general you'll likely get the best results with Riverbed.

Wan Optimizations appliances have an effect only on TCP flows. If you have latency issues with UDP flows (voip) I don't think you can do anything against that (real time traffic is very sensitive to latency)

About generic TCP flows optimization, you'll find many vendors in the market selling products which fit well according to your needs : Citrix WanScaler, Cisco WAAS, Juniper, Riverbed, Expand and probably a lot of other vendors...

Here is the trick they all use to hide the effects of latency (they don't hide latency, because it already exists, they hide the effects), Wan optimization solutions act like a transparent TCP proxy, spoofing server's IP address to the client, and spoofing client's IP address to the server, and they send the TCP Ack messages locally. So you don't have to wait for the round trip time to get the ACK message. It helps to "fill-the-pipe" quickly. This is the great solution to avoid latency effects, as TCP throughput is highly sensitive to latency, due to the Ack return messages, also congestion control has an horrible effect when the TCP connections start.

Also they implement selective Acks and large initial flow control windows to use the total bandwidth of the WAN link. Add to this some compression mechanisms to artificially increase the bandwidth available and some layer 7 optimizations (mainly CIFS for file sharing, but also HTTP-based compression), embedded QoS stuff, and you have an overview of what we call "Wan optimization".

Whatever the vendor you choose, they all implement what I described above.

Free Internet Dial Up Access

As the influence and use of the Internet continues to revolutionize the way we live our lives, Internet access has become an important necessity for most people. As Internet connection technologies progress, we can now access the Internet at lightning-fast speeds through a broadband Internet access. However, broadband Internet is still quite expensive. Is there still a free or inexpensive way to connect to the Internet? Yes there is.

Although Internet dialup access is the slowest type of Internet connection, it is also the easiest and most economical way to connect to the Internet. All you need, aside from a computer, is a modem and a telephone line. If you have a limited budget or don't want to spend too much on Internet access dialup is the best option. And if you are really conscious of you budget, you will be pleased to know that you can also access the Internet using a dialup connection for free.

Some Internet service providers offer free Internet dialup access as part of their services. All you need to do is dial the ISP's free Internet access numbers, and you can surf the Internet for free. ISPs also offer dialup Internet access with either a per-minute rate or a fixed monthly rate. However, free Internet dialup access is not entirely free since your usage on your phone line will most likely reflect on your next phone bill. Nevertheless, free Internet dialup access is the most cost-effective way to connect to the World Wide Web.

If you wish to save on Internet costs and opt for a free Internet dialup access, you can ask the Internet service providers in your area if they offer such services. You can also look online for the best free Internet access deals. Some sites provide information on free Internet dialup access numbers that you can use.

Internet Explorer 7 (Ie7) As A Ftp Client-Does Not Work

With the recent release of IE7 (basically pushed out and forced on you, aaarrrgg), those whom used IE6 as a FTP client will notice some changes and issues. Here are the highlights of the changes:

* The URL syntax with embedded username and password

(ie. [ftp://usr:pswd]@ftp.domain.com)

and similar syntax is no longer supported.

* In order to "Login As..." there are a few more clicks involved, and a new window must be opened.

* Actually, IE7 itself does not support a non-anonymous login at all... you must open the site in Windows Explorer.

Solutions

1) Continue to open FTP sites using IE7, but if you need "Login As...", do the following: Click on Page in the upper right corner, then click "Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer". When site opens in Windows Explorer, then click File, Login As... Enter your username and password, click Log On button.

2) You can save a few clicks by opening the FTP site directly in Windows Explorer. There are many ways of opening Explorer, like simply opening "My Computer" then type your FTP URL in the address bar. Like [ftp://ftp.sitename.com], then if you need to logon as, open File, Logon As... and enter username password, Log On button, as above.

3) Recommended Solution - DON'T USE IE OR EXPLORER.

I have never liked the use of Internet Explorer as an FTP client. As an IT manager, the issues caused by this have created more calls to my help desk than any other issue. IE is just about the worst FTP client I can think of. So, what to use? Well, there are many free FTP clients that do a much better job. The top two that I recommend are FileZilla and CuteFTP Free Trial. If you need premium tech support and are willing to pay for it, I recommend WS_FTP by IpSwitch.

Enjoy your FTP!

Internet Radio - What Does it Mean to You?

When Marconi invented the radio, I am sure he had no idea how much of an impact he was going to make. All of a sudden the world had a new communications tool and the world began to shrink. All of a sudden events that were taking place in other parts of the world was now international news. Before the advent of satellites circling the earth to carry radio signals far and wide, the radio was limited to small areas because of the massive towers needed to get that signal as far as possible.

Eventually the internet was born and the whole world shrank yet again and communication was at hand for anyone with an internet connection. However it was not until broadband started to rule the internet that internet radio came into its own. Now we can hear motivational speakers, live internet radio stations etc at the push of a button.

However what does this mean to you, for a long time the internet was basically text and graphics. We were all tied down to sitting and reading stopping us from doing other things. Now that internet radio is becoming a huge medium, you can now tune in to one and still carry on working while you are listening.

There are many thousands on radio stations now online covering almost every subject or genre of music. It is a no brainer now, every one with a broadband connection can tune in and get the very latest information on any subject. Yes I am very sure Marconi never knew what he had invented and what is did for the world.

Business Vs Consumer Internet - One Size Doesn't Fit All

Since businesses and consumers have very different functions, it follows that their Internet connection needs wouldn't be the same either. DSL is a viable option for both businesses and consumers. However there is a broad range of services that DSL offers. Fortunately, DSL is not a one size fits all type of deal. Instead, options are customizable depending on your needs.

Consumer Internet Uses

Anybody who has an Internet connection at home- which at this point is most people in North America- knows what consumer Internet needs are. These are the activities that you do on the Internet on a daily basis. Some activities are common among all users such as checking your email or Facebook account. These days, most people also download music from sites like iTunes, or watch movies on YouTube.

Since the majority of consumers are using the Internet for downloading music, videos and other multi-media, they need to have the bandwidth to support this. High bandwidth and high transfer rates are essential to making the consumer Internet experience successful.

Rarely do consumers use the Internet for uploading. Yes, occasionally people will upload their photos to Flickr or make a video of themselves singing along to their favorite song on YouTube. But generally speaking, consumers don't upload data nearly as much as they download it.

Consumer Internet

DSL providers have come up with a way to give consumers exactly what they need without wasting bandwidth by giving them more than they will actually use. Since consumers download more than they upload, it makes sense that they would have more download bandwidth than upload bandwidth. This is where ADSL comes in.

ADSL stands for Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Line. The asymmetrical part of ADSL is that the download and upload bandwidths and transfer rates are not equal- they're asymmetrical. Download rates are around 8 Mbit/s whereas upload speeds are only 1 Mbit/s. This difference accounts for the fact that most consumers download far more than they upload. So instead of wasting space on something consumers don't use, DSL providers give them more of what they do use.

Business Internet Uses

Businesses, whether they are small, medium-sized or huge corporations use more bandwidth than consumers. Hence, their Internet needs vary greatly from that of the consumer. Since businesses are doing business, they need to interact with their customers and therefore need to be able to upload information. Web sites become a gateway for businesses to interact with their clients.

On a daily basis businesses will upload forms, movies, pictures, data, articles and everything else that has to do with their business. Depending on the size of the business, this can amount to a lot of information uploaded every single day.

Like consumers, businesses are also downloading tons of information. In order to keep in contact with clients they need to have access to their information. This may be as simple as online form, or it may be more complicated like downloading entire presentations or video conferences from another branch. Whatever the use is, businesses need just as much bandwidth and speed for uploading as they do for downloading.

Business Internet

With their needs being so different, it wouldn't make sense for businesses to have the same type of DSL services that consumers use. To meet the demands of businesses that need large bandwidth for both downloading and uploading, DSL providers have come up with SDSL.

SDSL is another form of DSL, where the 'S' stands for Symmetrical. Instead of having different upload and download transfer rates as with ADSL, SDSL offers transfer rates that are the same for both uploading and downloading. In this way, SDSL caters to the need for businesses to both upload and download at high rates.

No matter what your needs, if you're a consumer just wanting to watch some funny videos on YouTube, or if you run a business that needs to upload information every day, there is a DSL service that is right for you.

As more computers connect to a broadband Internet connection

Broadband or high-speed Internet connection is what many users are currently using in their home. Together with high-speed Internet, many users also can use a router to connect multiple computers to the Internet. This paper describes how to use a router to connect multiple computers. To understand it easier, I'll use when you live like a comparison to how your computer is connected to the Internet.

What is an IP address?

IP addresses are a series ofFigures nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn in the form: nnn is taking up a-to three-digit number. An IP address is unique to a single computer on a network, much like at home, has a unique address. Provided for an Internet connection, an IP address from your Internet Service Provider (ISP). In some cases, your ISP may have more than one IP address, which you can connect to multiple computers. As you will see later, however, you can connect to multiple computers from a single IP --Address.

Connecting a single computer

Connecting a single computer to your high-speed Internet is very easy to do. Simply connect a network cable into the modem and then into the network card in your computer. Your computer will then be assigned an IP address from your ISP. For example, if your ISP assigns you the IP address 24.24.50.17, then your computer's IP address.

If you have a request to a server, such as a web page of the web serverknow what IP address that made the request. The information is then sent over the Internet and back to your computer. This is comparable to, if someone sends you e-mail to your home. The address on the mail allows to be delivered to you home and not elsewhere.

Connecting Multiple Computers

How can connect multiple computers, if only one address is assigned? If you know an application to a web page, how it works, the computer on which the requested page? Let's take our homeAnalogy a step further. Suppose, instead of living in a house that you live in an apartment. If someone sends you e-mails, they not only address but also a flat. This figure is within your apartment house and every apartment has its own number. Similarly, multiple computers can connect to the Internet when they are there own local IP address. This can be handled by a router.

A router is a piece of hardware that connects directly to theModem. Each computer is then connected to the router, instead of the modem. Now instead of your computer with the IP address from your provider, router is now assigned to the IP address supplied. This is comparable to the router away than the apartment.

The beauty of a router is that they can assign their own local IP addresses. If you get a computer to the router is now one of the IP address of your router, like every house has its own number assigned. NowIf you make a request for a Web page, the application must be addressed with the same ISP address, but this time it is to assign to the router. If the Web page is returned, the router receives the request and sends it locally on the computer, the page requested.

The router also has its own local address, which is the local IP addresses of the computers only. So now the router has assigned two addresses: one provided by your external provider and a local one which he made available. This allowsThe router connects to the Internet and the local network.

Note: The 192.168.xxx.xxx address are special IP addresses for Local Area Networks (LANs) are reserved.

Managing a Web or FTP server on your network

Let's take a look at this scenario. You have a router connecting several computers to the Internet. But now you want to create an FTP or Web server. No problem. Setup the necessary software on a computer on your network, "said someone outside yourNetwork of local IP address of your FTP server and they try to get in touch. Then discover that they can not connect. Why? Similar to something someone mailing you simply stating your apartment number and no address.

The IP address assigned to your computer locally on your network. You can connect with other computers on your network, but not from the Internet. You need your ISP assigned IP address (assigned to the router) to have someone from theInternet connection to your FTP server. The problem is that your router is assigned that IP address and your computer, and as an IP address must be unique, as two computers can share the same IP? The answer: you can not, but they do not.

Routers have the ability to provide information on a port to a specific computer to be transmitted. A port is a numbered channel whereby data can be sent to a network. You can not see physically, as it is a virtual channel used extensively in networking for/ Send receive data. For FTP servers the default port is 21, but another port can be used.

Open the router setup and look for the port forwarding option. Enter the internal IP address of your FTP server and port number and then save the information. Now, if a user tries to access your FTP site must rely on the ISP-assigned IP address for your router. The router will then determine that the data is sent on port 21 and then forward it automatically to your FTP --Server. A web server is setup the same way, but the default port is in Rule 80;

Note: By default, a router will dynamically assign IP addresses to the computers connected with it. This means that the first computer is connected to the router to the first available IP address received, and the next one will get the second, and so on. If you assign an FTP server to manage, it may be easier to have a static IP address on the computers to ensure that the FTP server always has the same IP --Address.

This article describes how to connect one or more computers to an Internet connection. It is important to remember the following:

If you have a computer directly connected to the modem, so that computers are assigned, the IP address from your ISP.
When using a router that the router assigned the IP address from your ISP. Every computer connected to the router receives a local address by the router.
A router, the ISP's IP address and a localIP address. This allows you to connect to the Internet and your network.
When setting up a computer as an FTP, Web or communicate with other servers over the Internet, it is important to use the router's IP address to access your servers. You must then send the necessary port on the server.

Client Referral Generation - How To Get Automatic Leads

Client referrals have always formed the backbone of any successful financial planners strategy. A good method for referral generating can save you large amounts of money that would otherwise spent for advertising. There are proven strategies, sometimes specific, sometimes borrowed from other professions which will guarantee better results, and I'll share some of them in this guide.

Remember to help - A large part of success is due to being sincere and honest. Focus on helping your clients, give them meaningful information, assist in creating bonds between them and getting them extra exposure.

Keep the referrer in the loop - You should look at your client relationships as lifetime partnerships. Keep in touch, know what are they doing at the present moment and keep them informed with your own undertakings as well. Make sure you always have a reason for contacting them, such as an advice or a recently acquired contact that they can benefit from. This way you'll keep yourself in the picture and pave the way for getting a constant stream of referrals from many sources.

Ask the referrer to contact your prospect first - You're much more likely to succeed if your prospect knows that you'll be calling. This is not easy to achieve, as it involves active participation on the client's side. A good way to break the ice in these situations is to ask for sending an e-mail or text message instead - electronic correspondence isn't hardwired in people's psyche as much as phone calls, and seems like much less effort in comparison - which it is.

Always carry a pen - You'll notice many opportunities for new contacts through your daily business and personal life. Always have a pen and paper ready, and you'll gain valuable leads. This practise alone is one of the biggest time savers and can lead to surprisingly rich outcomes.

Give meaningful, non-monetary gifts to be remembered - combine your promotion efforts with a referral generating strategy - give out personalized gifts such as pens, mugs, mouse pads etc. to your clients which will keep your name in front of them daily. Go one step further and personalise these - keep track of birthdays, anniversaries and notable events in your clients life. A warm and sincere congratulation engraved on these small gift can do wonders to the relationship, and it's a smart way get yourself remembered.

Tell success stories - Your clients need to know that their help is going to be meaningful and will lead to a win-win situation for everyone involved. Voice your latest efforts and how they helped others. A subtle way of getting these messages through is via a newsletter or a recent client related success story on your website.

Remind the benefits - How does your client benefit from doing business with you? Make sure your clients will be able to answer this question to themselves in a matter of thought. Remind them about all the positives of your relationship, such as bringing up the topic of recent happenings with someone who you introduced them to or other related success.

Set up alliances with other professionals - Strive to become a one stop shop for your clients and have contact information ready for introducting other professionals. You'll see that many of your clients will be looking for lawyers, mortgage specialists, real estate agents or other business owners whose work is largely based on referrals. Set up these alliances early and you'll gain a huge stream of new contacts on a regular, day-to-day basis - you'd be a fool to pass such an opportunity.

Hold Client Appreciation Events - It's a good way to introduce your clients to each other and create new business opportunities for them. Your best shot is to make the event pleasant, fun and constructive in character. If you can, bring a top-name speaker who will be addressing a memorable and useful topic. At the gathering, be the life of the party and give all your attention to your guests.

High-Speed Satellite Internet for rural areas

What are some of the hidden benefits to get Satellite Internet for those who live in rural areas? First, there is the speed of the satellite. Compared to dial-up services, the satellite speeds up to ten times faster. This means that those who will go online for business or just surfing to need to get everything done something faster experience. You will notice that it no longer wait until a Web page to load! Everyone can appreciate that that!

The satellite can no longer bewaiting to be on the Internet where others make a phone call received. This is for those who are important to running a business, as well as for those who want to go to web surfing. They do not run the risk that a call is not important. This is important for companies, as well as individuals.

Satellite Internet, using the latest technology to deliver a low orbit geostationary satellite access and reliable. You will always be able to online as long as your satellite is received to clear access to theSky. In bad weather it may some service disruption, but it usually clears quickly.

Another advantage is the ability to telework. More and more companies are offering this option to their employees. It cuts travel time and gas and the cost to the employer, but that is something that might be impossible, for those with a slow, clunky dial-up connection would be. Those who live in the country, have high-speed Internet, if they do wantTeleworking. A 56-dial-up connection just does not work.

If you own your own business and are in the country, then you may also need to have a satellite connection. Regardless of the type of business you have, you will be able to the World Wide Web access as quickly as possible. You need to check email, check your customer orders, updating of websites and much more. Using any service slower than satellite could be detrimental to the success of your business.

One of the fewDiscovered issues that people with satellite internet, that there is a slight delay problem has occurred. For the average user to surf the Internet, checking e-mail, updating blogs and websites, this is not really a problem. The only people who may have a problem with the low latency, are those who play online PC games, especially first-person shooter. But given the fact that satellites provide a service that can use the dial-up simply did not compete, it is worthwhile for people in ruralpremises.

Living, working, or with a company in the country does not mean that you have to do without high-speed Internet service. With the right satellite companies, see the location, facilities and program that can fit all your needs. And if you are a growing company, you will be able to find a satellite provider, which grow with you.

iDirect competition from SurfBeam & DIRECWAY

For the first time since about 3 years ago, the highly touted Enterprise iDirect satellite Internet platform is powered by two less expensive platforms: DIRECWAY's DW 7700 and SurfBeam ViaSat Ku-band setup questioned. But they can provide cost-effective solutions that actually work? Here is the early comparison:

1. Cost:
The iDirect setup traditionally cost of over $ 1800 for the equipment (1.2 meter satellite dish with two watt transmitter) + installed between $ 499 - $ 799 Therethere are a few companies make it up for less, but with relatively long maturities on the service at the difference.
The DIRECWAY 7700 is selling for about $ 1600 plus installation of $ 500 for the 1.2 meter dish setup with a 2-watt transmitter. You can use the DW 7000 Business Internet version for about $ 1000 for sale (reaching the same speed, but lacks a few frills).
The ViaSat Ku-band SurfBeam setup is selling for about $ 1600 for the 1.2 meter dish and a 4-watt transmitter, plus installation of about$ 500, the lowest price of all offers in this comparison, given the stronger transmitter is included in the price. The 2-watt setup sold for less than $ 1,000 plus installation (provides up to 256 kbit / s upload - not rated).

2. Latency:
VSAT is the only product on the market, in competition with iDirect in this area is Ka-band SurfBeam (WildBlue Communications). The DIRECWAY environment is still very tight, but still run some 75 to 150 ms iDirect behind the numbers that are prettyconsistently in the 575-700 ms range.
The SurfBeam ku setup on the market not long enough to take compare, but I have a test system, very fast and the results can be published. Since it uses the same modem as the Ka band Wildblue setup, it might be a worthy competitor in this area.

3. Dynamic range:
Here it is now very confusing for most business-grade VSAT buyer. The least-expensive monthly service options are "shared bandwidth", which for all but theU.S. government and large companies, is all that is realistic to talk about it. Dedicated bandwidth is extremely expensive and very few opt for them. The problem with common bandwidth shared bandwidth is not all created equal!
This is the convoluted and often incorrectly described the satellite internet industry. Most satellite providers are very reluctant to tell you how many people you share with the bandwidth. It's called the contention ratio or assertion andit is crucial to perform well as your satellite service. Most experts regard anything below 20-1 as true enterprise grade shared bandwidth, but with the efficiency, the use of the new 7000-series, both DIRECWAY platform with DVB-S2 technology and the DOCSIS platform SurfBeam ku ViaSat modem have resulted, some will say that the dispute will be in competition with the ratios up to 60-1 iDirect setup work with a 20-1 run rate.

Tthe iDirect platform requires the lowestContention ratio of setup to perform competitively with others from my own experience. This is where the competition really begins for iDirect ... it only works well when bandwidth is available ... and that is expensive to get. There are several companies that are trying to block the limits of money out there now with the iDirect setup and urging people screaming about slow speeds and high latency.
The DIRECWAY ext 7700, most simultaneous TCP / IP sessions with the Internet asthe other packages in this comparison. The DIRECWAY will not affect the connection "as soon as strictly IP type connections, so that more users can simultaneously over the network ... a great advantage for DIRECWAY. To further understand this complex area of satellite internet, call a professional VSAT sales engineer with a reputable company.

4. Monthly costs:
Because we limit the discussion on shared bandwidth, I will request the products with the most popular speed compare: 2000kbit / s download and 512 kbps upload speeds.

IDirect A.: The least expensive monthly service charge with an acceptable ratio of contention I realize Pistenzustand $ 599 per month without use. There are many low Ballers out there, but you adhere strictly to the amount of usage per month and limited float costs literally. A package is $ 350 per mo, but has a limit of 3 GB per mo. Total ,09-use and the cost per MB thereafter.

B. DIRECWAY Business Internet: $ 199 per month. It is a 1250 MBThreshold (FAP) - so you can slow down when you do a huge amount of downloading in a short period of time.

C. SurfBeam Ku-Band: 3000/512 is the next plan I could find, and it runs $ 350 per month. There is no restriction on the connection time per month at this time.

5th VPN & VOIP:
Because the iDirect setup has the lowest latency of all tested systems, IPsec VPN, it takes the best. The SurfBeam ku setup could equal if thoroughly tested, and it's a pretty safe bet thatThe DIRECWAY 7700/7000 Series comes in third with higher latency, while offering far better than anything they have in the past. Note that there is no satellite Internet setup doing a fine job on an IPSec VPN tunnel. You Expect reduced 50-70%.

The people need, voice over IP are very good results over an iDirect SurfBeam setup or get (from satellite Internet standards) and will not be able to use DIRECWAY Setup for VoIP at this time.

Business Internet hasimproved over the last three years for those who can not get terrestrial service, but it has its limits, which still offer a lot of frustration for users. Which setup you choose will depend a lot on your needs and budget .... on clear answers and get the right fit for your company, call a professional who is not "married" to the provider.

With wireless Internet or satellite internet provider best for you?

Although it may difficult for some to believe, not everyone has the opportunity, high speed internet access as yet. Those who live in remote or rural areas, the settings are still in the dark, so to speak, when it comes to high speed internet and can not decide for DSL or cable Internet connection. Therefore, they have to go another way. For some can mean cruising through satellite Internet providers and for others it can mean that for wireless Internet access, including one forYou?

Well, first you need to know what is the difference between the two. Satellite Internet providers offer semi high-speed Internet via satellite, similar to that used for satellite cable. There are no cable systems or telephone lines to speak, but a bowl is used to communicate the data from your computer to a central point. When we say, to offer satellite Internet providers semi high-speed Internet, this is because it is not nearly the speed of the cable and in some casesit is still slower than DSL, but faster than dial-up.

WLAN requires nothing more than a wireless card enabled on your computer. However, in a rural environment, depending on where the wireless point, you can not not have this option. WiFi uses something like microwave signals to enable communication between a variety of issues. This means that you can connect to the Internet wirelessly, without cables, without cables and without anger.

Whatis for you?

Now, for the most part, it depends on where you live. If you can in a very remote area, you just have a choice of satellite Internet providers. You would really need to search the Internet and see what is available in your area. You may be lucky and have both wireless internet and satellite Internet providers in your area and have the option to choose.

It is important to remember that both are based on the weather in terms of signal strength. The strength of the Internet signal can dramatically fall in bad weather permit. In addition, some satellite Internet providers significantly higher fees than any of their colleagues, the wireless Internet provider also includes disposal. Make sure you look at all your options, as well as your budget before you choose which is for you.

The MPLS next generation of broadband communications?

MPLS seems to be the next generation of communication. There are numerous applications that can benefit from the advantages of this latest technology allows for data packets through the use of labels in order to prioritize them. Of course, it is still in the "early days".

MPLS is what ATM should have been. All traffic control of ATM, without the limitations of fixed cell sizes. In general, when you manage different QoS services, MPLS the right answer for lines with high bandwidth, is ATMthe correct answer for lines with low bandwidth (which is why it is used for DSL).

Many products have the MPLS label, but beware - there are several partial implementations (Cisco included) of the MPLS data, many of which do not give you the full range of QoS and hence support for the implementation of various services at the same time. For multi-service networks, MPLS, which I will rely on the networks today would - but please check the fine print to make sure they really do what youwant.

I would say that MPLS is the "now" (not the next) generation of backbone technology. In Europe and Asia-Pacific region is already the technology of choice for most new WAN implementations .... and call the number a service offer by the majority of Global Telco's, not the focus of the suppliers.

My only caution would be not to forget to compare the business cases for MPLS and legacy technologies competing in terms of a change. Often, the push service provider customers in MPLSbecause it is fashionable, and the margins are better for them, because they can bundle multiple services with it (data and VoIP, plus advanced network monitoring tools, etc.). Whether costs MPLS "in" for a customer will depend on:

(a) existing and future bandwidth requirements;

(b) the need to bow to bandwidth on demand;

(c) geographical distribution of the WAN (removal of the stock exchange and regulatory reasons).

There have been cases where companies have the mid-term would have been theRollout of an MPLS WAN .... to recognize only that they are going to spend more money (not less) to a technology, not the benefit they really are. Also, some companies MPLS have thrown overboard, when they realized that they could double their existing ATM bandwidth cheaper and faster in some places .... rather than deploy MPLS.

Overall, however, with (a) the updating of the network infrastructure is now better built into the operating budget, and (b) the realization that things like VOIP and convergence of legacy andcurrent data networks are no longer a leap of faith, and (c) the removal of premiums for MPLS services - it is really always the standard technology for today's wide area networks.

British Telecom and all the other British, European and U.S. telcos can imagine I am me, all provide MPLS as a carrier backbone technology. It is very likely that if you buy ATM in some places today, it will be encapsulated over MPLS anyway!

Every major telecommunications companies in the U.S. drives MPLS. In fact,Sprint is the task of the Frame Relay service received at the end of the year all on their MPLS network.

Remember that you have to MPLS at each site in order to take full advantage of technology. But everyone from the U.S. phone company ATT, Sprint, Verizon, GX, the service can offer the world.

Just a side note, "Aw Ha moment ".... The advertised cost however, depends on your network topology and the telco is used.

For example,

Sprint: Removalfrom a traditional frame relay network, an MPLS network will save you money. If you have a fully meshed frame relay network, the savings is greater. Why? For with the Sprint Class of Service is free. One comes from the loop + port + PVCs to loop + port.

Verizon Business: Verizon offers AUTO (Commmitted access prices) with its MPLS offering (Private IP or PIP). You do not need to PVCs, but now you need for CAS, depending on what you want, can pay the same or even more.

ALL MPLSOffers allow the customers who do not yet have a fully meshed network is now the benefits of a. This also plays into the most customer disaster recovery plans.

Well .... to use a devil on the issue of the hype of MPLS.

First look-MPLS CoS Class of Service (not), the ATM QoS "means" provide for true clarity of the subject. The problem that I have seen and dealt with the surrounding MPLS is its implementation. The widely perceived as "cheap" - or lower cost (that word as you want)Solution for ATM and it is to some degree (equipment wise) - but also some other service.

Well, actually for MPLS to be activated the entire route from point A to point B must MPLS. So say some agencies have a say in England and in place B, Chicago, those are all the way from both locations (priority must be enabled) MPLS. Or are your packet markings useless.

Here is an example of packet flow:

VoIP call from London -> Provider A (MPLS)

Provider A-> Upstream -> upstream provider (No MPLS)

Upstream provider -> Back to the situation (not MPLS)

Then have activated the upstream provider is not MPLS, everything you think "" You better done was worthless. The MPLS 6509 and better configured, made no dent in your movement speed, you saved zero dollars.

Static routing ?..... MPLS is highly dependent on static routes, routes, route flaps go down. Fact of life. MPLS is stupid and brutally takes an incredible amount ofConfiguration to the engineers for failover scenarios.

QoS ?..... The same is true, you can paint your packages rainbow colors. If the upstream or someone out of the way strips the colors, the fruitless effort. Vendors - especially bandwidth providers - are not mentioned, such as MPLS is not all that cracks up to. They will pitch a product. "Fastest bandwidth on the planet." But unless the sites are strictly limited to the provider network. There is no guarantee from another providerYou get all the glory staining of packets (QoS / CoS) MPLS or ATM. Outside of these ...... MPLS is IP-based and succeptible for all types of attacks. At least in the ATM attack methods are somewhat more difficult.

Now that you have thoroughly investigated .... You can make the decision for MPLS (or not) more easily by an unbiased consultant. My number 1 recommendation is to take advantage of free services at DS3 take Bandwidth.com.

What is Virtumonde?

The Virtumonde strain and its variants are on the Internet for a few years ago. This program shows itself in many different ways and is by WinFixer, WinAntiVirus Pro WinAntiVirus Pro and Vundo.

This program actually tracks all your online surfing and targets ads on sites you have visited. It will also go and download fake anti-virusPrograms and then run scans on your computer. You should never buy something that this program tries to sell you, because it is a gimmick and does not do you good.

Some other ways to tell you specifically if you have Vundo is one of the following files will be installed on your computer.

C: WINDOWSsystem32fcissfvg.dll

C: WINDOWSsystem32lyssmlnb.dll

C: WINDOWSsystem32yjsallam.dll

There are many other files, but if you are one of theabove, then you have the Vundo load.

The two most common causes of infection is to install a browser plug-in or codec. This happens when you try to listen to a file or viewing a file online and they tell you you need to install up to a certain piece of software, so you see it or hear it. Trusted sites such as CNN and Fox, it can be installed in order to avoid such events, but if you've never heard of the site before then you should not install, what is it to ask you.

Another possibility, people have becomeinfected is installed, under the old Java program. This program had a few bugs, which have been exploited, and if you never update the program that you inadvertently left open to infection.

Those who may be infected with this strain that their current anti-virus software and anti-spyware software in the search for viruses, but can not remove. If this is the case, you must use special tools to remove this threat or better anti-virus and anti-spyware purchaseSoftware.

Even with the right tools to do the job many people who are computer illiterate can not want to try to remove them and how they can take a few hours and you need step by step guides to do it self.
