Getting to Know Your Client - the importance of communication

In my last article, I have what I believe, provide the foundations for a virtual writers - communication, research, organization and time management. This month we will dive deeper into the art of communication.

Wikipedia defines communication as a process of transforming information from one place to another. How does this transformation take place? The conversion can take place, from one-on-one interaction of an individual with a speech or a lectureHundreds of people. Communication involves the exchange of information, thoughts and ideas, and after he had received from another.
Grant writing requires that all parties need the assistance of the agency involved writers, agents and the sponsor (the organization for providing the resource) are actively used in the process of applying for grants from beginning to end. Although communication between all parties is necessary at some point, the proposal can not be completed without an active interaction betweenthe virtual grant writers and their customers. In this case, communication involves a series of questions on the VA than I like to call it "to be able to know your customers." In order to formulate a "relationship" with you and your customers, you should be able to complete the following questions - Who, What, When, Where and Why?

Who is your customer? When you begin the process of drawing up a proposal, it is important to learn everything about your customers. In theShould be the beginning of learning in the absence of a better term, a kind of "advertising", where you know with whom you have partnered. The more you know, the better you are - know the history, present and future of your customers. This will prepare you on how an insider and not just someone who put information on paper to a program to know which one actually do anything, to write.

What do they do? Ask about the benefits that their program is available. Find out what mayabout their different program or received from another organization that is doing the same thing. What they do is also discussing how they work. What resources are available to them now that they are operating? Do they have a board or group to which they have to report?

If they do it? Are the services provided to a specific period of time? Will your project will be ongoing and if so, for how long? Remember, you need to know what your customers are plans for the future. This allows you to be proactive, and later in the search for other possibilities.

Where do they see? You need a detailed description of the group, which is in need of resources. Since the virtual grant writer, you should feel as if you live in this community and understand their needs.

Why do they do it? Your customer should be able to offer a convincing argument for the importance of their program. Why should the granting of a subsidy impact of their program?

Once you begin toWrite the proposal for your customers, you should consider how you feel, actually a part of their organization. You need to know what they want to accomplish and why it is so important to them. By offering your customers these first questions, which are prerequisites for a clearer picture of the work that you have to achieve to make. Forgotten In a world with technology and continuous information to be filled on a button, we sometimes how important it is to have a real conversation withsomeone. Passion, dedication and enthusiasm can not be made on a website.
